"In my DP catalogue, there are 3 AL 9000 modules. PN0908 (AL 9000 1.1) --
said to improve output at low RPM; PN09099 (AL 9000 2.4) -- said to improve
output at high RPM; and PN 09117 (AL 9000 3.0) -- said to be "suitable for
racing engines, high RPM".
Although the accompanying graphs in the catalogue purport to compare the
performance of the 3 different modules, there isn't a graph comparing them
to the OEM modules.
After my 2V 900 motor was rebuilt with Vee-Two heads, valves, cams,
adjustable cam pulleys, etc., I came across a pair of the 2.4 modules and
auditioned them, but found that they made the engine run rougher than did
the OEM modules and my seat of the pants dyno didn't notice that they made
any difference.
The graphs in the DP catalogue purport to show that a motor with 1.1
modulus makes power up to 8,000 rpms, with 2.4 modules up to 8,500 rpms,
and with 3.0 modules up to 9,000 rpms. All the graphs show peak power is
achieved at 3,000 rpms. FWIW, on the dyno, my bike with the OEM modules
makes peak power at 7,000 rpm and doesn't drop off until 8,000 rpms. I
can't remember what the 2.4 modules did."
