Big thanks to Bluepoint design - but I've not got an actual name to thank!!! Oil PressureMy workshop manual had no test listed for testing oil pressure on my 900SS so here are the instructions from the gauge I bought. Procedure: 1. Remove the side fairing if necessary 2. Remove the pressure switch 3. Install pressure gauge in pressure switch hole. 4. Start engine and observe pressure. When the engine is cold the oil will be thicker and the pressure reading will be higher.: 5. Remove switch and reverse disassembly. Notes: 1. Too high of a pressure indicates that the pressure reducing valve is jamming. 2. Too low of a pressure indicates that the pressure reducing valve is jammed in the open position, that the spring is too weak, or that the oil pump is faulty. 3. Other causes of faulty pressure can indicate badly worn seals gaskets or bearings.
